Abstract

Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies made a big impact on the traditional way of designing. To take full advantage of this change, designers need to go beyond the pure modeling tool and set up a work-flow that could allow the designer saving time, otherwise spent to perform complex calculations. In this article, the possibility of using commercial BIM software to properly perform pressure loss calculations in HVAC systems, is assessed. In order to achive this verification, software calculation will be compared with hand-performed calculation and on-field measurements.
