Abstract

Due to the strong dependence on fossil fuels, in the coming years it will be necessary to implement energy efficiency measures and actively use renewable sources, even in fields where their presence is not so widespread. A still underutilized application concerns the use of geothermal heat pumps applied to greenhouses. In the present work, the thermo-fluid dynamics and hygrometric analysis of an existing greenhouse is performed through numerical fluid dynamics (CFD), with the aim of proving the effect, in terms of efficiency, of the installation of a heating system powered by a geothermal heat pump. In addition, a new hot air distribution and diffusion system is provided, consisting of air ducts in micro-perforated fabric. The analysis of the results made it possible to ascertain how the use of microperforated ducts allows first of all to reduce the operating time of the generation system and secondly to obtain a uniform temperature and relative humidity field, eliminating any form of stratification.
