Abstract

Schneider Electric has developed an integrated system for the management of plants installed in commercial centers with the objectives of maximizing comfort and energy efficiency. The systems are monitored and controlled in real time and the data collected are analyzed to provide useful information for the management and maintenance of the technical plants through an intuitive user interface. Thanks to the use of standard and open protocols, information is made available to external applications and the system is open to future developments. The system optimize also the interaction between different installations (for example, food refrigeration system and HVAC system) maximizes efficiency, ensuring optimal comfort level and for ensuring the continuity of the cold chain. Within the CommONEnergy project (GA n ° 608678 - financed under the FP7 framework agreement) this solution has taken the name of iBEMS (Intelligent Building Energy Management System) and it is part of the systemic approach for the deep renovation of the COOP supermarket of Modena Canaletto and the other demo cases. IBEMS allows to integrate complex systems from the point of view of the architecture and control strategies, supporting the designers in the development and testing, as well as the facility managers in the performance verification in the operational phase, also in combination with the continuous commissioning platform developed by Eurac.
